Counselor's Corner

My name is Jennifer Maclin and I am the counselor at Webb Elementary. I love the kids and staff at Webb and am excited to be here! This is my 10th year in education. I was a high school teacher since 2003 teaching deaf, hearing and hard of hearing student’s math, English, reading, life skills and American Sign Language as a foreign language. I was at McKinney Boyd High School from 2006-2013, so I feel at home here at Webb even though this is my first year here. I love McKinney!

I grew up in East Texas in Lufkin and went to Lufkin High School. I went to Stephen F. Austin State University where I earned my bachelors degree in Deaf Education. I earned my Masters Degree in Counseling and Development from Texas Woman’s University. I am a Nationally Certified Counselor, LPC-Intern and certified Interpreter for the Deaf.

I am so excited to be at Webb and look forward to working with students individually and in groups. I am also the 504 coordinator. I will be going to classrooms soon to teach guidance on the six pillars of character. They are:
We are TRRFCC (Terrific) because our kids are:
— Trustworthy
— Respectful
— Responsibility
— Fair
— Caring
— Citizens

Please help reinforce these characteristics at home. I am here to help the children be successful at Webb Elementary. Please feel free to contact me at (469) 302-6086 if there is anything I can do to assist you!
